Pay Range: $32 - $58/hour. Competitive compensation based on experience. Comprehensive Benefits Package:

• Psychiatric Nursing Care: Perform comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes for patients with mental health disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance use disorders).
• Therapeutic Engagement: Establish therapeutic rapport with patients and families. Utilize de-escalation techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and trauma-informed care principles to maintain a safe, respectful milieu.
• Medication Management: Administer psychotropic medications, monitor for efficacy and side effects, and provide thorough patient education regarding medication regimens.

  Work closely with psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, and case managers to coordinate holistic, patient-centered care and facilitate safe discharge planning.
• Safety & Environment: Maintain constant vigilance of the therapeutic environment. Conduct safety checks, assess suicide/homicide risk, and implement appropriate precautions.
• Professional Development: Serve as a preceptor and mentor for newer nurses and students. Participate in shared governance and unit-based performance improvement initiatives.

• Skills- Current RN license (Georgia or Compact State)
• Current BLS certification (required upon hire)
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience (completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours)
• Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or psychiatric nursing
• Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
• Current RN License in the State of Georgia or a Multi-State Compact License.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required upon hire.
• Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC) is highly desirable.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or equivalent de-escalation training is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience is required (completion of accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours).
• Substantial experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit, behavioral health facility, or mental health crisis setting is essential.
• Expert clinical judgment and critical thinking in psychiatric crisis situations.
• Exceptional therapeutic communication, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain composure and decisiveness in volatile or emotionally charged situations.
• Strong documentation, time management, and collaborative teamwork abilities.
• Deep compassion, patience, and commitment to reducing stigma in mental health care.
