Job Summary
Night shift, United States of America. Bonus Eligible for Qualified Candidates. The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe patient care. The role is governed by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence‑based practice, with RN competencies supported by Wellstar Values.
Responsibilities- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking.
- Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care adapted to population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease, cultural diversity).
- Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and timely teaching.
- Practices current clinical standards of care.
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care in a professional, inclusive environment.
- Facilitates interdisciplinary communication (e.g., rounds, case reviews).
- Participates in performance improvement and shared governance at all system levels.
- Professional Development and Initiative
- Completes initial and ongoing competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific training.
- Serves as preceptor or mentor for nurses and staff, fostering a qualified workforce and healthy work environment.
- Engages in evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and improvement activities.
- Evidence‑Based Practice and Research
- Promotes evidence‑based practice and participates in research and data collection.
- Upholds system and professional policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Consults experts and employs appropriate resources to address clinical questions.
- Resources and Support
- Plans patient care across the continuum and supports efficient resources use.
- Contributes to protocol and procedure development to achieve best‑practice outcomes.
- Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing or Graduate of an accredited/approved nursing school (required).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Licensure and Certification
- Regulated RN (Single State) or RN – Multi‑State Compact, Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS Instructor (required upon hire).
- Experience
- Less than 1 year of nursing school completion with required clinical hours (required).
- Direct patient care experience (preferred).
- Skills
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology to support clinical care.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
- Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies decisively and respectfully.
- Excellent time‑management and analytical thinking skills.
