Job Title
Safety Supervisor
LocationAustell, GA – Paper Mill
OverviewGreif is a global leader in performance packaging. The Safety Supervisor will lead and support workplace health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, preventing injuries, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Lead incident and near‑miss investigations and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and deliver employee safety training and onboarding programs.
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety committee activities.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Support workers’ compensation and return‑to‑work programs.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to reduce workplace hazards.
- Mentor and provide guidance to Safety Leads, Production Trainers, and site personnel.
- Track and report key safety metrics, including Total Case Incident Rate (TCIR) and near‑miss reporting.
- Promote a proactive safety culture focused on zero incidents and continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while supporting their professional growth and performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, or similar environments with a safety‑related degree; 10+ years may be considered in lieu of a safety‑related degree.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, compliance requirements, and safety management systems.
- Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and employee training programs.
- Proven ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and safety reporting systems.
Competitive salary range: $81,800.00 – $ annually. Benefits include medical, dental, paid time off, and other standard programs available from day one.
