- Routine chemical analysis of environmental samples, operation and maintenance of analytical instrumentation (XRD, ICP‑MS, FT‑IR, etc.). – 70% of time
- Assistance in the general day‑to‑day running of the laboratory, QA/QC and health and safety compliance. – 10% of time
- Assistance in preparation of research proposals and reports submitted to funding institutions. – 20% of time
The main responsibilities will include assistance in the routine analysis of environmental samples, including assisting with the operation and maintenance of lab equipment (ICP‑MS, ICP‑OES, XRD, XRF, etc.). The incumbent will ensure compliance with all QA/QC and health and safety procedures and assist in the general day‑to‑day running of the laboratory. Other duties may include assistance in the preparation of research manuscripts and reports for funding institutions.
The job may involve handling and analysis of radionuclides. Additional job‑specific training will be provided as appropriate.
