PLC/VFD Industrial Maintenance Electrician

Is this you?

  • Can you trace a control circuit, interpret a schematic, and bring a downed line back to life?
  • Do PLC diagnostics, relay testing, and VFD tuning feel second nature?
  • Are you equally comfortable with a blueprint, a bench lathe, a welding torch, and a multimeter?
What you’ll do
  • Use industrial electronics and mechanical know-how to pinpoint malfunctions and restore operation
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, control circuits, and variable-speed AC drives
  • Assemble, test, and install electrical control panels from schematics
  • Pull and terminate wiring and devices to company standards and local electrical codes
  • Build automation equipment per engineering instructions, manuals, and component-level understanding
  • Recommend circuitry/installation updates that simplify maintenance
  • Commission new installs and validate performance under real operating conditions
  • Update electrical drawings to as‑built using CAD
  • Integrate electrical controls with pneumatic and mechanical sub‑systems
  • Run bench lathes, drills, and other machine tools to fabricate parts when required
  • Tackle other assignments as directed by management
  • Execute PM tasks: inspect drives, motors, belts; check fluids; replace filters; complete checklists
  • Diagnose mechanical faults using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
  • Plan and stage repair work from diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematics
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut/join metal
  • Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools

  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Pneumatics and pneumatics troubleshooting
  • Single- and three-phase power
  • 120/208/240/480 VAC systems
  • Motor maintenance, repair, and replacement
  • Relay testing
  • General maintenance and repair practices

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
