PLC/VFD Industrial Maintenance Electrician
Is this you?
- Can you trace a control circuit, interpret a schematic, and bring a downed line back to life?
- Do PLC diagnostics, relay testing, and VFD tuning feel second nature?
- Are you equally comfortable with a blueprint, a bench lathe, a welding torch, and a multimeter?
- Use industrial electronics and mechanical know-how to pinpoint malfunctions and restore operation
- Troubleshoot PLCs, control circuits, and variable-speed AC drives
- Assemble, test, and install electrical control panels from schematics
- Pull and terminate wiring and devices to company standards and local electrical codes
- Build automation equipment per engineering instructions, manuals, and component-level understanding
- Recommend circuitry/installation updates that simplify maintenance
- Commission new installs and validate performance under real operating conditions
- Update electrical drawings to as‑built using CAD
- Integrate electrical controls with pneumatic and mechanical sub‑systems
- Run bench lathes, drills, and other machine tools to fabricate parts when required
- Tackle other assignments as directed by management
- Execute PM tasks: inspect drives, motors, belts; check fluids; replace filters; complete checklists
- Diagnose mechanical faults using blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
- Plan and stage repair work from diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematics
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut/join metal
- Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools
- Reading electrical schematics and blueprints
- Electrical troubleshooting
- 5 Why root cause analysis
- Mechanical troubleshooting
- Pneumatics and pneumatics troubleshooting
- Single- and three-phase power
- 120/208/240/480 VAC systems
- Motor maintenance, repair, and replacement
