Kitchen Hood and Portable Suppression Inspector
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-driven Kitchen Hood Systems and Portable Fire Extinguisher Inspector & Technician to join our growing team. You will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining commercial kitchen hood fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers, ensuring they meet safety and code requirements. This is a hands‑on field position requiring travel to client locations and working in varied environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Perform inspections of kitchen hood, duct, and exhaust systems in accordance with NFPA 96 & NFPA 17A standards.
- Perform inspections and field service of portable fire extinguishers in accordance with NFPA 10.
- Experience with Pre‑Engineered Industrial Fire Extinguishing Systems or a current certification – not required but is a plus.
- Document inspections and services with photos and written reports.
- Identify fire hazards or maintenance issues and communicate recommendations to clients.
- Ensure proper setup and cleanup of job sites.
- Follow all company safety protocols and maintain PPE usage.
- Interact professionally with clients, team members, and supervisors.
- Interest in cross‑training beyond these scopes is not required but is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Active Pre‑Engineered Kitchen Fire Extinguishing Systems Technician Certification.
- Active Portable Fire Extinguisher Technician Certification.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (required).
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong ability to inspect and service all brands of kitchen suppression systems.
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and occasional weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work.
