As a Generator Data Center Commissioning Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful installation, testing, and commissioning of generator systems within data center environments. This role involves verifying system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards to guarantee reliable backup power for critical infrastructure.
To be successful in this position you should have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position and the desire to learn. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred. 3+ years in generator systems, power distribution, or data center commissioning preferred.
Familiarity with diesel and gas generator systems, load banks, and control systems. Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation. Proficient in using diagnostic tools and commissioning software. Ability to work in data center environments and outdoors as needed. Lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and climbing. Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
