No Description The  position of Aerial Laborer is a regular, full-time hourly non-exempt role responsible for overhead (aerial) utility construction activities by assisting linemen and equipment operators with the installation, maintenance, and removal of overhead telecom lines and systems. This position works in close proximity to energized lines, bucket trucks, and pole-setting equipment and plays a critical role in maintaining job site safety, productivity, and quality standards.

This position works out of either the Statham, Georgia or Austell, Georgia office and reports directly to the Aerial Foreman.

This position works a schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. This position will have regular travel around the state of Georgia to perform field-based aerial operations at various job sites. As a condition of employment, this position may be required to work extended hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as operational business needs require along with overnight travel to other job sites.

Responsibilities Aerial Construction Support:

Assist with installation and removal of aerial fiber optic and coaxial cables on telephone poles.

Support framing, cross-arm installation, and hardware assembly.

Handle and stage wire, cable, insulators, and pole hardware.

Assist ground crews and qualified aerial personnel with pulling, lashing, and securing cable, including staging materials and supplying tools near bucket-truck operations.

Serve as a spotter and use established hand signals or radio communication to guide equipment operators during pole placement and material handling.

Ground & Site Support:

Perform pole hole preparation and back filling.

Maintain organized staging areas and material inventory.

Load and unload trucks with materials and equipment.

Perform site restoration and general cleanup.

Support traffic control setup as needed.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow OSHA standards and Company safety policies. Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.

Participate in daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and tailboard meetings.

Follow required clearances and minimum approach distances near energized lines as directed by qualified personnel and Company safety procedures.

Wear required PPE at all times.

Represent the Company professionally while on the road and at job sites.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements Formal Education & Certification:

Completion of a High School Diploma or attainment of a General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D).Possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license and maintain a driving record that meets Company requirements.

Knowledge &

Experience:

One to two years of experience in aerial telecommunications or utility construction, or directly related construction experience, is preferred.

Qualifications & Characteristics:

Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the scheduled workday.

Must be capable of working on uneven, sloped, or rough terrain for extended periods.

Ability to kneel, crouch, bend, stoop, and twist repeatedly while performing construction tasks.

Must be able to work at heights when assigned and properly trained, including climbing ladders or poles and accessing elevated work platforms, in accordance with Company safety procedures and applicable fall-protection requirements.

Applicants must be able to wear personal protective equipment (“PPE”).Ability to work in areas where energized utility lines may be present while following required clearances, work-zone controls, and Company safety procedures.
