Lead a community where partnerships create possibilities. The City of Austin, Minnesota (population ~26,000), is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as its next City Administrator and Executive Director of the Austin Port Authority.

RoleAs the City’s chief administrative officer, the City Administrator provides executive leadership for municipal operations, strategic initiatives, financial management, organizational development, and implementation of City Council priorities while also serving as Executive Director of the Austin Port Authority.
Austin is seeking a collaborative, relationship-focused leader who inspires trust, builds consensus, and works effectively with elected officials, employees, businesses, community partners, and residents.
Salary and BenefitsSalary up to $212,326, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary and benefits are negotiable. The City offers a comprehensive benefits package, including relocation assistance.

QualificationsMinimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, political science, or a related field and at least five years of progressively responsible local government management experience. A master’s degree and experience in economic development are preferred.
