Want to join a team focusing on family systems therapy that makes a difference in the lives of youth and families? We are currently hiring a Mental Health Therapist - Residential for Nexus-Gerard Family Healing located in Austin, MN.

About Nexus:

Our team of therapists at Nexus-Gerard is specially trained in trauma and stress, and we’re committed to helping families stay together, heal, grow, and move forward. Our treatment approach in youth residential helps address behavioral and mental health issues like depression, anxiety, trauma, op positional behavior, ADHD, borderline personality, bi-polar conditions relational problems, attachment issues, parenting support, family conflict, sexually problematic behaviors, and emotional/physical/sexual abuse.

Schedule/Pay/Location:

  • Full-Time
  • Salary Range: $68,000 - $75,000

Responsibilities:

Our Residential - Mental Health Therapist will provide therapy services to at-risk youth and their families.

Trauma Informed Care

  • Creates and drives a trauma-informed environment, establishing and maintaining a positive treatment culture and making necessary changes to ensure success
  • Engage in and have active involvement of the Family Collaborative Intake meetings
  • Complete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) functional assessment
  • Through the collaborative effort with family, youth, and providers, develop and monitor the individual treatment plans

Milieu Coordination

  • Develop and facilitate milieu and treatment groups that are trauma informed, educational, and treatment focused
  • Participate in all youth related treatment team meetings, using family centered language and youth driven principles
  • Assess readiness for discharge in conjunction with the treatment team. Coordinate and recommend therapeutic services for success after discharge

Community Care

  • Coordinate/communicate aftercare needs of the client with family and all necessary social service and community providers to ensure a smooth transition
  • Communicate with the treatment team to include all desired and necessary family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers
  • Ensures that all required client reports, records, and all documentation are produced accurately and maintained in a consistent, timely, and professional manner according to policy and regulated statutes
  • Ensure confidentiality regarding mental health, medical issues, background treatment and comply with all HIPAA related requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Master’s or other graduate degree in one of the behavioral sciences, human services, social work, counseling, psychology, family therapy, or related fields.
  • Interest in family-based philosophy and practice is required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in related community-based work with adults, families, and/or youth
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply!
  • Licensure: LPCC, LICSW, LMFT (salary offer will reflect fully licensed & experienced candidates!)
