Job Purpose: As a Corporate Supply Chain Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting one of the nation's leading branded food companies. Working alongside experienced supply chain professionals, you will contribute to meaningful projects that impact planning, procurement, transportation, warehousing, and demand management across our network. Through data analysis, cross-functional collaboration, and operational problem-solving, you will develop practical business skills while helping drive efficiencies that support Hormel Foods' customers and long-term growth.
Responsibilities:

Supply Planning:
- Gain hands-on experience supporting end-to-end supply planning activities, including inventory management, production scheduling, supply and demand balancing, service performance monitoring, and shortage analysis.
- Participate in daily planning meetings, help maintain scheduling and planning systems, analyze data to identify risks and opportunities, support inventory optimization efforts, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- This role provides exposure to the decision-making processes that drive inventory, production, customer service, and overall supply chain performance.
Transportation:
- Project based internship focusing on transportation and distribution aspects of supply chain; attend daily transportation team meetings; analyze current data within transportation department with the goal to improve current processes using technology; work with all members of the transportation team to understand and help execute daily operations in routing, dispatch, and post load; gather and analyze information in distribution to increase efficiencies and recognize cost savings;
attend weekly distribution meetings with refrigerated warehousing partners; miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Project based internship focusing on transportation and distribution aspects of supply chain; attend daily transportation team meetings; analyze current data within transportation department with the goal to improve current processes using technology; work with all members of the transportation team to understand and help execute daily operations in routing, dispatch, and post load; gather and analyze information in distribution to increase efficiencies and recognize cost savings;
Procurement:
- Project based internship focused on Procurement Center Of Excellence (data, metrics, reporting, and strategy), Directs (packaging or ingredients) or Indirects (MRO, travel, fleet, IT, or capital).
Warehouse:
- The warehouse internship will focus on learning about our distribution network and partners; learning all of our systems to support our distribution channel; spending time at multiple sites learning the business/operations; installing our appointment scheduling technology at our warehouse locations; miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Demand Planning:
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and finance to understand marketing programs, new product introductions, pricing changes, promotions, and events to meet customer demand.
- Track weekly and monthly forecast error to identify contributing factors and adjust the necessary item and/or distribution center levels.
- Perform total brand, item mix analysis, and provide insights to lead volume discussions.
- Partner with supply & deployment planning to understand supply chain implications of forecast changes.
Required Qualifications:
- Must graduate in August 2027, December 2027, May 2028 with a bachelor's degree in supply chain management or relevant degree program with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge in Microsoft Excel (intermediate skills)
- Able to perform data entry
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills and solid communication skills
- Access to and/or the utilization of a personal motor vehicle to get to/from work location
