RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Manager of Transportation leads the Refrigerated Transportation and Dispatch pillar and the Track and Trace team. This person will be responsible for on time delivery, cost effectiveness and making sure communication objectives are accomplished.

The person in this position:

• Works with the Corporate Manager of Transportation to ensure we are optimizing the overall network with keen focus on service levels and costs.
• Collaborates with other cross functional areas to create solutions to help increase and deliver greater value-added sales through our transportation efforts and continue to drive costs out of our systems.
• Follows the strategic operational direction with our carriers to ensure continuous improvement is made in terms of service metrics.
• Collaborate with the warehousing and deployment team to ensure we are optimizing our distribution facilities.
• Works to enhance our current Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure we are optimizing and focused on strategic efforts to increase our use of technology and reduce the transactional nature of our business.
• Works with the Corporate Manager of Transportation and the Director of Logistics on any special projects or continuous improvement projects.
• Set strategic goals and direction on setting KPI’s.
• Primarily leadership role is over the refrigerated network.
• This position will currently oversee 2 dispatch supervisors and supervisor of track and trace and weekend staffing.
• Accountable for driving on‑time pickup and on‑time delivery
• Proactively identify transportation delays and ensure timely, accurate communication to internal stakeholders and customers
• This position may require 10% travel and may include some night and weekend work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

• 3 years of supervisor experience within a Supply Chain organization.
• Proven track record of strong leadership skills and record of delivering results.
• Proven ability to handle a significant amount of detail work in a fast-paced environment .
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with prompt and thorough responses.
• Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
• Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred

• 2 years of experience managing transportation services.
• Experience with Blue Yonder or another Transportation Management System.

LOCATION: Austin, MN – a comprehensive relocation package to the Austin, MN area will be offered to support a move to the area.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $98,100 - $137,000 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will ,depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
