Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable:
- Serve as the sole owner of the Accounts Receivables process and act as the primary contact for all AR related questions.
- Request certified copies of all pay applications submitted to clients for confirmation of timely approval of funding.
- Request funding updates from all clients for open billings on a monthly basis and follow up weekly for overdue payments.
- Timely and accurately post payments to Sage 100 for funds received.
- Create monthly AIA pay application pencil copies and distribute to the project managers, review edited pencil copies submitted by the project managers, enter billing into Sage 100, create appropriate lien waiver and submit billing package to client.
- Submit necessary lien waivers to clients for payments received.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly Accounts Receivable reports.
- Provide oversight to the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments.
- Review and approve vendor invoices for payment.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends and variances.
- Collaborate with operations to review financial performance
- Prepare and analyze financial reports , including WIP
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Implement new systems and technologies to streamline accounting operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance OR related experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
- Proven knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced understanding of construction industry financial practices and regulations.
- Proficient in construction ERP software (e.g., Sage 100 , Procore, etc).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capacity to explain complex financial information to non-financial personnel
