Accounting Manager

Overview

Small, established Austin-based company is seeking an Accounting Manager for a newly-created position. This individual will serve as the hands-on, go-to Accountant within a thriving business with a 25-year track record of success. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this position will be responsible for performing full-cycle accounting using Quickbooks, preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, and overseeing day-to-day accounting & financial operations.

Job duties will include, although not be limited to:

• Hands-on oversight of monthly and quarterly financial close processes
• Maintenance of the Quickbooks general ledger, including accounting for daily transactions, journal entry preparation, accruals, and key account reconciliations
• Overseeing Accounts Payable and Payroll, while monitoring Cash Flow and related Cash accounts
• Preparing detailed invoices for clients while managing the Billing process and overseeing Accounts Receivable
• Working closely with the external CPA firm on Sales Tax reporting and other Tax items
• Responding to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from the Leadership team
• Leading special projects, including systems upgrades, process improvements, and teambuilding initiatives

To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Five or more (5+) years of relevant Accounting experience within a small or mid-sized business
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting (although other fields may be considered, depending on experience)
• Proven experience utilizing Quick Books, along with a solid understanding of GAAP
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented mentality
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally while leading accounting process improvements
• A hands-on, start-to-finish mentality, coupled with the desire and ability to take on new challenges
