Job Summary
The Accountant will be an important team member working on the general ledger close process, and ensuring compliance with internal control requirements. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with good organization and analytical skills, a good understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a public company environment and be adept at handling accounting tasks as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- General Ledger Close: Participate in and help execute on the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes assigned to meet internal and external financial reporting deadline requirements, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Internal Controls Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal control over financial reporting requirements. Assist in the documentation, testing, and remediation of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Audit Support: Prepare schedules and provide support for internal and external audits.
- Ad-hoc Analysis & Projects: Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as assigned by management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Operations, Legal) to ensure accurate financial information and support business needs.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in a publicly traded company and/or public accounting firm is highly desirable.
- CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA is preferred.
- Experience with aerospace and/or manufacturing industry accounting is desired.
- Technical
Skills:- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Working proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Oracle).
- Experience with close automation software like Flo Qast/Blackline desirable
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Office.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
