Tarvos Talent is partnering with a fast-growing client located in Austin to find a talented, driven Accounting Manager to join their team. This restaurant group is PE backed and growing, growing, and growing some more! They are targeting a G/L Accounting Manager AND a Financial Reporting Accounting Manager. This is an incredible opportunity to gain exposure to a well respected PE group and put your stamp on a developing accounting function.

This is a highly visible role in the company, and you will have a unique opportunity to build out new processes after the planned ERP implementation. As the G/L Accounting Manager you will oversee all general ledger activities across multiple restaurant brands and legal entities, ensuring accurate and timely transactional accounting and close processes. Key responsibilities include supervising month-end close, preparing and reviewing journal entries, maintaining the chart of accounts, performing balance sheet reconciliations, managing intercompany transactions and eliminations, and conducting variance analyses. The manager enforces internal controls, supports sales tax and other compliance filings, partners with operations, payroll, and FP&A to align store-level results, and drives process and system improvements.
This role leads and mentors a team of accountants to deliver reliable, audit-ready financials that support operational decision-making.
As the Financial Reporting Accounting Manager you will lead the preparation, consolidation, and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the restaurant portfolio in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Responsibilities include overseeing consolidation across entities, drafting footnotes and disclosures, coordinating management discussion and analysis, performing technical accounting assessments, and maintaining reporting calendars and controls. The manager collaborates with FP&A and executive leadership on performance narratives, ensures compliance with regulatory and lender reporting requirements, and manages external audit requests.
This role enhances reporting processes and systems, optimizes disclosure quality, and guides a small team to produce accurate, decision-ready reports for stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, and a foundation in public accounting. Multi-location restaurant/retail experience can substitute for public accounting. A CPA is not required but preferred. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is required, along with excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Additional requirements for the Financial Reporting Manager include a foundation in BI tools and SEC reporting.
