Denver, CO or Austin, TX locations.
Prerequisites- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 3+ years general ledger accounting experience; real estate and/or public accounting experience a plus.
- Up to date on current technologies as well as intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Takes ownership of tasks and can be relied upon to complete them.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal) that will allow effective communication with all team members and company relationships.
- This position will interact with all levels of the organization, including local and global teams.
- Must be well‑organized, have a strong attention to detail and an honest approach to tasks.
- Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, here's what you'll be doing:
- Analyze financial statements monthly, report on variances (budget vs actual) and hold properties accountable.
- Assist department to complete monthly close procedures including preparing general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for senior leadership.
- Present financial analysis to monitor operational performance and guide business decisions.
- Become the subject matter expert and resource for areas of responsibility.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non‑compliance.
- Train and mentor team members, including review of work.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Light travel may be required.
- Be proactive in relation to processes, efficiencies & communication.
- Competitive salary of $85,000 - $95,000 per year.
