Senior Property Accountant

US-CO-Denver

Denver, CO or Austin, TX locations.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 3+ years general ledger accounting experience; real estate and/or public accounting experience a plus.
• Up to date on current technologies as well as intermediate skills in Excel, Word, Outlook.
• Takes ownership of tasks and can be relied upon to complete them.
• Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal) that will allow effective communication with all team members and company relationships.
• This position will interact with all levels of the organization, including local and global teams.
• Must be well‑organized, have a strong attention to detail and an honest approach to tasks.
• Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, here's what you'll be doing:

• Analyze financial statements monthly, report on variances (budget vs actual) and hold properties accountable.
• Assist department to complete monthly close procedures including preparing general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for senior leadership.
• Present financial analysis to monitor operational performance and guide business decisions.
• Become the subject matter expert and resource for areas of responsibility.
• Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non‑compliance.
• Train and mentor team members, including review of work.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Light travel may be required.
• Be proactive in relation to processes, efficiencies & communication.

• Competitive salary of $85,000 - $95,000 per year.
