Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job DescriptionAs an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will provide essential financial, administrative, and clerical support to ensure the timely and accurate receipt of payments. You will be responsible for recording transactions and resolving discrepancies in accordance with company policies. This role demands strong analytical, communication, and independent decision‑making skills. The position is dynamic, requiring adaptability as you will often move from task to task.
Responsibilities- Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports.
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned accounts, building relationships with vendors and internal teams.
- Maintain and update contact databases and process documentation.
- Navigate company portals and update complex Excel reports.
- Post payments, reconcile ledgers, and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate with customers to collect payments and manage payment plans; coordinate with collections agencies as needed.
- Support internal teams and respond to customer inquiries professionally.
- Generate financial reports and assist with audits.
- Maintain accurate customer data in ERP systems.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned.
- Strong Cash Applications experience.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of accounts receivable/collections/accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, with VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables required.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Experience in collections (30 collections accounts, following up with 15‑20 weekly + other A/R, CS activities).
- Technically skilled to operate in multiple ERP and various systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Effective verbal, listening, and written communication skills.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school preferred.
- Analytical skills and in‑depth organization and decision‑making abilities.
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to assist any of the companies supported by the Shared Services team.
- Experience from a larger organization preferred.
- Experience in the Pharma/Bio Tech/Med Tech industry is desirable.
Located in downtown ATX, you will work in an office space with a premium, gorgeous view. The open‑concept office has cubicles, and you will work alongside the A/R/Payroll teams. The shared services team includes 4 A/R Reps assigned to the entity and 14 total A/R Reps. Enjoy amenities such as a BEVI machine, catered lunches, and two state‑of‑the‑art kitchens. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00–$30.00 per hour.
