Responsibilities:
- Handle daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger updates.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and reports for organizational leadership and the Board.
- Track and manage grant funding, including restricted and unrestricted funds, while maintaining compliance with reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals to facilitate audits and tax filings.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to uphold financial best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Process payroll independently or oversee payroll services through a third-party provider.
- Maintain well-organized and accurate financial records to ensure data reliability. Requirements - At least 3 years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
- Proficiency in nonprofit accounting practices, including fund accounting and grant tracking.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Quick Books, Sage Intacct, or similar systems.
- Ability to work independently with a high level of initiative and ownership.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating with leadership and program teams.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and financial compliance requirements.
- Solid understanding of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.
