Summary
The Staff Accountant is responsible for handling relations with our 3 rd party partners, as well as, assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable items. Duties include but are not limited to 3 rd party billing, journal entry upload, weekly account reconciliation, event billing and various month end close processes. This person may be asked to assist with additional projects as the need arises.
Responsibilities- Respond to inquiries from guests, clients, owners and vendors. Follow up on requests to ensure guest satisfaction and respond diligently to guests, coworkers and member requests.
- Assist with journal entries and execute month-end closing checklist.
- Assist with reporting and preparation of account reconciliations.
- Review, investigate, and analyze General Ledger variances.
- Assist with the optimization of accounting procedures and special projects, as required.
- Prepare journal entries with adequate supporting documentation and backup.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards to ensure that those entries are meeting audit requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by accounting management.
- Handle accounts receivable for in-house third-party entities.

Qualifications- Degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Hospitality preferred.
- 1-2 years hotel accounting experience, preferred.
- Prior Oracle, Birchstreet, and Opera experience preferred.
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office (particularly intermediate or advanced user of Excel) and computer accounting software programs.
- Ability to effectively communicate with departmental managers, colleagues, guest and the public.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must possess following strengths: high energy, motivated leader, effective communicator, excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills.
- Extremely detailed and accurate.
- Must have well time management and organizational skills.
