We are currently on the lookout for a Senior Property Accountant to join the team in our Austin, TX or Denver, CO locations! It’s a big job, but you will be part of a team of awesome Yugoers across the globe, who will support you to ensure we are consistent in the service we provide to our students.
ResponsibilitiesSound good so far? Here’s what you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3+ years general ledger accounting experience, real estate and/or public accounting experience a plus
- Up to date on current technologies as well as intermediate skills in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Takes ownership of tasks and can be relied upon to complete them
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal) that will allow effective communication with all team members and company relationships
- This position will interact with all levels of the organization, including local and global teams
- Must be well‑organized, have a strong attention to detail and an honest approach to tasks
- Carbon Literacy Certification or willingness to undertake training
Reporting to the Financial Controller, here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Analyze financial statements monthly, report on variances (budget vs actual) and hold properties accountable
- Assist department to complete monthly close procedures including preparing general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting for senior leadership
- Present financial analysis to monitor operational performance and guide business decisions
- Become the subject matter expert and resource for areas of responsibility
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non‑compliance
- Train and mentor team members, including review of work
- Special projects as assigned
- Light travel may be required
- Be proactive in relation to processes, efficiencies & communication
