Position Overview
Based out of Austin, TX, we are a global Defense and Space Manufacturing company that is experiencing an exciting time of rapid growth right now across all departments, which allows for tremendous career advancement opportunity.
The Senior Technical Accountant will be responsible for providing expert accounting guidance and support for complex technical accounting issues. This role involves analyzing and interpreting accounting regulations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Analyze and interpret GAAP and SEC reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
- Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on financial data and performance.
- Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors regarding technical accounting matters.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement in financial reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical accounting, with experience in public accounting and/or at a public company
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, data analysis, and accounting principles
- Experience with enterprise ERP systems, such as Net Suite, Oracle, SAP or similar
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
- Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) is a plus
- Previous experience in government accounting or government contracting is a plus
- Annual base salary flexible depending on experience
