Controller; Construction

Overview

This Jobot Job description is provided for the Controller role in construction and site services. Salary is $110,000 - $135,000 per year. The company operates across Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, and the broader Southeast region and is expanding its operations in the Austin/San Antonio market and beyond.

• Lead monthly and year-end close processes across multiple entities.
• Manage job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
• Oversee accounts receivable/payable, billing cycles, retainage, and cash flow forecasting.
• Partner with project teams to monitor budgets, margins, and cost performance.
• Maintain internal controls and support audit, tax, and compliance requirements.
• Supervise accounting staff and support process improvements across platforms.

• 5–10+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to construction or related industries.
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting, WIP, and project-based financials.
• Experience in multi-entity or growing platform environments preferred.
• Proficiency in construction accounting systems such as Deltek Computer Ease, Viewpoint Vista, Sage 300, or similar ERP systems, and Excel.
• Strong communication skills with ability to work closely with operations and leadership.
