Senior Tax Accountant

A well-established, full-service CPA firm is seeking a seasoned Senior Tax Manager to serve as a key technical resource for a growing book of clients. This role is full-time, on-site, and based in Austin, TX.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced tax professional looking to take on a leadership role, deepen client relationships, and grow with a firm that is intentionally building something different.

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns including 1040, 1065, 1120-S, 1120, 1041, and 990
• Serve as the primary technical tax resource during client advisory meetings, fielding complex tax questions alongside firm leadership
• Review accounting work completed by staff for accuracy, timeliness, and proper account coding
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain financial records, general ledgers, and accounts including AP, AR, inventory, and amortization schedules
• Contribute to firm-wide initiatives around technology adoption and process improvement
• Mentor and support junior staff as needed

• 8–15+ years of public accounting experience with a strong tax focus
• Proficiency across a broad range of return types including individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and nonprofits
• Experience in or genuine interest in client advisory work beyond compliance
• Comfortable working in a tech-forward environment with openness to AI tools and workflow automation
• Strong communication skills and a client-service mindset
• Proficiency with Quick Books, Xero, or similar accounting platforms preferred
