Senior Staff Accountant (Contract - 3 Months)

North Austin, TX (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Pay: $35-40/hour

LHH is partnering with a client in North Austin to identify a Senior Staff Accountant for a 3-month contract engagement. This role will focus heavily on general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations, while supporting broader accounting operations.

What You'll Be Doing

General Ledger & Month-End Close

* Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting

* Assist with month-end close, ensuring deadlines are met and processes run efficiently

* Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness

Reconciliations

* Perform detailed bank and balance sheet reconciliations

* Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

* Ensure supporting documentation is complete and audit-ready

AP/AR Support

* Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activity for accuracy

* Partner with AP/AR teams to resolve issues and ensure proper coding and posting

* Assist with improving processes and controls across transactional accounting

Financial Reporting

* Support preparation of internal financial reports and schedules

* Assist with variance analysis and provide insight into account fluctuations

What You Bring

* 4+ years of accounting experience, with strong GL focus

* Proven experience with month-end close and bank reconciliations

* Experience reviewing or supporting AP/AR functions

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

* Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)

* ERP system experience (Oracle, Net Suite, SAP, or similar preferred)
