We’re hiring an Accounts Payable Lead for a fast-scaling company bringing manufacturing in-house in Austin, TX (onsite at HQ, M-F).
In this role, you’d join a growing accounting group - working alongside the Controller, Tax leadership, Accounting Managers, and Sr/Staff Accountants - where AP is core to the company’s ability to scale.
You’ll take ownership of the full Accounts Payable cycle, operating at the crossroads of accounting, procurement, and operations - working directly with purchase orders, suppliers, and production teams to keep materials, components, and freight moving seamlessly throughout the organization.
This is a high-volume, PO-driven environment where accuracy matters, systems matter, and your work directly impacts inventory, COGS, and the company’s ability to scale. If you thrive in growth, like rolling up your sleeves, and enjoy building processes from the ground up, this role was built for you.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end AP lifecycle for direct spend tied to manufacturing and production
- Manage PO-based accounting, including 2-way and 3-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice)
- Process a high volume of invoices with speed and precision
- Build/refine AP workflows, SOPs, and controls as the business scales
- Partner with key business teams; maintain & grow vendor relationships
- Code invoices accurately to inventory, COGS, deposits, and capitalized costs
- Resolve discrepancies that directly affect inventory valuation and financial reporting
- Support audits, month-end close activities, and system improvements
You’ll focus on direct spend - the purchases that go straight into building products - while a separate team handles indirect spend like travel, office costs, and general operations.
Qualifications
- Full-cycle Accounts Payable experience with PO-based accounting skills in a manufacturing or operational environment
- Experience handling high transaction volume while maintaining accuracy
- A gritty, hardworking mindset - you’re hands-on and thrive in ambiguity
- Systems oriented, tech-savvy and adaptable
- Enjoy building process that aren't yet established
- Able to work fully onsite (M-F) in downtown Austin area
Why This Role Stands Out
- You’ll help design and implement SOPs for a scaling manufacturing organization
- You’ll be part of a high-growth accounting team that’s actively expanding
- You’ll receive company equity - you’re contributing as an owner, not just an employee
- The business is extremely well funded and building for long term success
Salary: $95,000–$120,000 annually (based on experience, skills, and education)
- Fully covered medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), company equity, unlimited PTO, and more!
