Payroll Administrator Responsibilities- Pay employees by calculating pay and deductions, processing garnishments/levies, and issuing checks.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies/complaints by collecting and analyzing information.
- Comply with government and company policies and conduct internal auditing of all payroll records.
- Maintain accuracy and resolve problems associated with benefits, W-2s, unemployment and withholding tax.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understand and follow applicable provisions.
- Maintain payroll related tax accounts including registration, termination and updates.
- Assist with preparing and reconciling journal entries and accruals in conjunction with the accounting team.
- Receive requests and maintain accurate records/reports/accruals for PTO and float time.
- Process account funding of 401K, HSA, FSA and any other employee‑led contribution accounts.
- Help the Finance department as needed, including journal entries, reconciliations, and audits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experienced in Multi‑State Payroll and Tax.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion.
- Sharp attention to detail, very accurate and highly organized.
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, V‑Lookups, and other moderate level functions.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, Windows. SAP Success Factors a plus.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite and MS Teams.
- Works well in a high volume, fast‑paced, rapidly changing work environment.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills essential.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of payroll experience required.
