Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Payroll Manager to join our team in the Construction industry. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional who is passionate about overseeing and managing the entire payroll function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The role includes managing payroll and providing consulting services to clients to ensure best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation, distribution, and reporting processes for payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
  • Perform payroll functions including processing, auditing, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with HR and Accounting teams on payroll related matters.
  • Act as a consultant to our clients, providing expert advice and guidance on payroll matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Deliver presentations and training sessions to clients on payroll best practices.
  • Continuously improve the payroll process, identifying opportunities for automation, reduction of manual tasks, and enhancement of controls.
  • Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing payroll operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • Proficient with payroll software and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in the Construction industry is a plus.
