Tax Specialist

How you will contribute

• Proficiency with common practices on resolving tax discrepancies from beginning to end.
• Maintain timely and accurate resolution of tax agency notices.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax return and payment submission.
• Strategize with peers and leadership on root cause of notices and processing filings.
• Anticipate problems, plan tasks, and execute solutions to ensure our customers receive world‑class service.
• Responsible for maintaining clients’ tax setup of third‑party accounts, unemployment rates, disbursement methods, and withholding frequencies.
• Validate and evaluate requests from clients and internal partners to assign workflow/volume based on request.

• 2+ years of payroll tax payment or filing experience.
• Experience with multi‑state and multi‑client payroll taxes. Payroll Service Bureau (SBO) experience is a strong advantage.
• Ability to communicate with team members, agencies, and clients for notice resolution.
• Previous payroll technology skills, including advanced MS Excel and payroll software systems (Evolution Payroll software preferred, but not required); experience with payroll tax software systems is a plus.
• High School Diploma or GED. Advanced education in accounting, business administration, or other relevant coursework is a plus.
