Assistant Controller

A global investment firm is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its growing U.S. Corporate Accounting team in Austin. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a finance organization that is actively evolving, with exposure to complex accounting matters, international collaboration, and meaningful process improvement initiatives.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and partnering with stakeholders across the business, not just preparing journal entries.

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for multiple corporate entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Support management reporting and corporate financial reporting.
• Partner with finance teams in the U.S. and internationally on allocations, chargebacks, and accounting matters.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and scalable accounting solutions.
• Participate in systems enhancements and special projects as the organization continues to grow.
• Build relationships across Accounting, FP&A, Compliance, and other business functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience within public accounting, financial services, or a complex corporate accounting environment. Ideally a blend of public accounting and financial services.
• Strong technical accounting foundation with experience in general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience working in a multi-entity environment.
• A process improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across multiple teams and locations.
