The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant is accountable for day-to-day oversight of the company’s construction and project accounting and supporting internal and external audit requests. This includes ownership of the related internal controls and evaluation of current processes to improve use of Net Suite and fixed asset accounting best practices. The position works closely with other functional areas in the Controllership and Finance organization and partners with Construction and Data Center Operations.
Responsibilities- Own the construction in progress (CIP) accounting, SaaS project accounting, and internal cost capitalization processes for placing assets into service.
- Ensure all CIP and PPE accounting activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner monthly.
- Review contracts, propose and document accounting assessments in compliance with GAAP; partner with FP&A and other business partners to identify new internal cost capitalization opportunities, operationalize capitalization, and keep processes scalable.
- Represent Cap Ex accounting in projects and reviews.
- Understand relevant company accounting policies and procedures, interpret them to make quick decisions, and provide guidance.
- Review sales and use tax compliance of invoices and contracts, and prepare revisions and accruals when needed.
- Design processes that maintain compliance across all stakeholders (External Audit, Tax, Insurance, Business partners, etc.).
- Track equipment assets at the serialized level and reconcile data against operational ERP systems to ensure accuracy for transfers and disposals.
- Actively engage in developing and maintaining compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley; understand risk control matrixes, internal controls, and process documentation.
- Recommend process improvement initiatives and execution by building scalable accounting processes to support growth.
- Manage ad-hoc projects and requests for data and analysis from business partners; perform other duties as assigned.
- Foster open, respectful, and professional communication within the team and with co‑workers, teammates, and leaders across the organization.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting is required.
- Four years of related experience is required.
- Strong Excel skills are required.
- CPA with public accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong use of ERP / accounting systems.
- Knowledge of Net Suite and Net Asset is preferred.
- Experience with Procore or other construction ERP systems is a plus.
- Independent, analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis, and resolve complex problems.
- Excellent reconciliation skills and ability to work with large data sets.
- Knowledge or experience in the Construction or Data Center industry is preferred.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; some nights and weekends may be required.
