A national accounting, advisory, and consulting firm is seeking an Audit Senior to join its Energy team. This role is responsible for leading key aspects of complex audit engagements while serving as the primary engagement professional. The position requires strong technical accounting knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
The successful candidate will apply advanced audit procedures, oversee engagement planning, and contribute to delivering high-quality audit and advisory services for clients within the energy and renewable energy sectors.
Key Responsibilities- Lead significant components of audit engagements from planning through completion.
- Serve as the in-charge professional on larger and more complex engagements.
- Apply strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting frameworks, and GAAS standards.
- Develop risk-based audit approaches and coordinate engagement planning activities.
- Perform and oversee advanced audit procedures involving complex financial statement areas.
- Prepare and review audit documentation while ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Manage engagement timelines, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and project management.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and provide guidance to junior professionals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of public accounting, industry, or related audit experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and GAAS.
- CPA candidate required; CPA license strongly preferred.
- Experience managing audit engagements and working with complex financial reporting matters.
- Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Energy and/or renewable energy industry experience preferred.
