Those aren't just words on a wall. They're the standards we live every day. If that's how you work too, we want to meet you.

The Role

As Senior Property Accountant, you're the financial backbone behind our property portfolio. You own the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across multiple properties, partner closely with Community Managers and Regional Supervisors to keep budgets on track, and make sure ownership and leadership always have a clear, accurate picture of property performance. You catch what others miss, you keep the numbers honest, and you make the financial side of the business run without friction.

You’ll work closely with Property Management, Regional Supervisors, and the Accounting/Finance team, with the authority to drive process improvements and the support of a company that has your back.

What You'll Be Responsible For Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance, and provide clear commentary for ownership and leadership
  • Prepare accurate, timely reporting packages for owners, investors, and lenders as needed
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank reconciliations
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Partner with Regional Supervisors and Community Managers on annual budget development
  • Support quarterly reforecasting and monitor performance against budget throughout the year
  • Identify trends and flag risks or opportunities to leadership proactively
Accounts Payable/Receivable Oversight
  • Review and approve invoices, coding, and vendor payments for assigned properties
  • Ensure rent collections are posted accurately and timely in Real Page (or comparable software)
  • Oversee delinquency reporting and support collections processes as needed
  • Manage petty cash reconciliation and expense reporting
Compliance & Audit Support
  • Ensure compliance with lender, investor, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Support year-end audits and tax preparation with clean, well-documented records
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial files across all assigned properties
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Serve as the go-to financial resource for on-site teams, translating numbers into actionable insight
  • Train and support Community Managers on financial best practices and reporting accuracy
  • Attend regional and corporate management meetings as needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and employee information
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of property accounting experience, multifamily preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and property-level financial reporting
  • Proven experience with budget preparation, variance analysis, and month-end close
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of Real Page
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA or progress toward CPA a plus, not required
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills
What You'll Get
  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Quarterly bonus potential tied to financial performance and accuracy
  • Full benefits - health, dental, vision, pet, life, disability, and 401(k)
  • 18 PTO days per year, increasing with tenure - plus your birthday off
  • Leadership development and skills training
  • Company events, holiday savings program
  • A real path upward - we promote from within

Elliron Residential is an equal opportunity employer. We're committed to building a diverse, inclusive team and celebrating the people who make it great.
