Client in Austin, TX has a contract need for an Accounting Manager who will manage full-cycle accounting for STL LLC in Quick Books, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Processes vendor invoices (accounts payable) and customer invoices (accounts receivable) in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities:- Calculate, process, and pay payroll for approximately 19 STL employees directly in Quick Books on the applicable pay schedule.
- Calculate and remit applicable federal, state, and local payroll taxes; prepare related filings and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Prepare and post monthly accruals, provisions, and adjusting journal entries to support an accurate and timely month-end close.
- Process vendor payments and manage payment schedules in alignment with contractual terms.
- Perform bank account reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations on a regular basis.
- Prepare monthly management reports and financial summaries for the Controllership and FSS leadership team.
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP and applicable client accounting policies throughout the engagement.
- Support the high-level coordination and data validation activities related to the ERP transition from Quick Books to Oracle EBS.
- Collaborate with the Financial Systems & Solutions (FSS) team and Controllership on integration milestones, data validation, and process documentation as needed.
- Promote a positive working environment and demonstrate client’s leadership behaviors and values in all interactions.
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- 6+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience with demonstrated expertise across multiple accounting functions (AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, tax).
- Proficiency in Quick Books required — must be able to operate independently from day one without training.
- Demonstrated experience processing payroll directly (not oversight only) including tax calculations and remittances.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience managing the complete accounting cycle for a small or mid-size entity as a primary or sole contributor.
- Strong organizational and time management skills — ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines (payroll cycles, tax deadlines, month-end close) independently and accurately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
- CPA certification (preferred but not required).
- Experience supporting ERP migrations or transitions (e.g., Quick Books to Oracle EBS or similar platforms).
- Familiarity with Oracle EBS.
- Manufacturing or technology industry experience.
- Experience in M&A integration or acquired-entity accounting environments.
- Master’s degree in Accounting.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
