Moby Cap operates with a "whatever it takes" mindset when it comes to serving our clients, and we're looking for a Staff Accountant who brings that same drive to our finance function. This role owns financial processes end-to-end across Quick Books and Salesforce and goes beyond traditional accounting scope — you'll partner directly with sales, operations, and leadership to keep the financial picture accurate and actionable as we scale from a respected Austin lender into a national player.

• Enter, track, and reconcile Quick Books accounting records alongside Salesforce deal records
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Prepare and issue timely periodic financial reports
• Support month end and year end close processes
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local, state, and federal regulations
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate financial data
• Track and process inter-company transactions and journal entries
• Reconcile payments and sales commissions in Salesforce
• Process payroll and manage vendor/contractor payments and invoices
• Track compensation plans, bonuses, SPIFs, and trueups
• Monitor cash flow and deposits; prepare cash flow reports
• Manage collections, accounts receivable, and clawback tracking
• Track and invoice volume bonuses; follow up on outstanding balances
• Categorize and report expenses, including credit card transactions
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and audit ready financial records
• Support 401(k) administration and related accounting tasks
• Identify and implement process improvements as the finance function scales

• 3-7 years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) — CPA not required
• Proficiency in Quick Books, Microsoft Excel, and accounting systems
• Experience with Salesforce is a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
