As part of the Ministry Operations team at The Austin Stone Community Church, The Accounts Payable Associate (APA) will be responsible for the expense reimbursement and accounts payable process, including maintaining the accounts payable system, expense approvals, and updating bank records. The APA will work part-time, 10-20 hours per week. The APA will report to the Accounting Manager.
- Maintain the accounts payable system, including vendor setup, expense approval, set up for contract workers (1099), approval rules, and other accounts payable administration.
- Execute the expense reimbursement process, including employee setup, final expense approvals, wire/ACH transfers, updating the GL system, and check processing.
- Process the payment of accounts payable on a weekly basis using accounting and bank software.
- Update bank records, verify checks that clear the bank, research unfamiliar payments, and work with the bank to resolve issues.
- Work alongside the accounting and finance team to review and approve The Austin Stone expense reimbursements and payments to vendors.
- Ensure accurate and consistent communication to all staff and to individuals as needed.
- Provide staff with spending reports upon request
- Other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned
- Attend, when possible, events and activities for The Austin Stone, including all staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, and staff development days.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- 1 year of experience in an business administration, accounting, or finance
