We are a rapidly growing SaaS fintech company providing technology-driven financial solutions to businesses and consumers. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Controller to lead the accounting function, strengthen financial controls, and ensure accurate and timely reporting across the organization.

The Controller will oversee the company's accounting operations, financial close, reporting, and internal controls. This person will be both a strategic leader and hands-on operator, with the opportunity to improve processes, implement systems, and build a high-performing accounting organization.

The ideal candidate has experience in SaaS, fintech, financial services, or another technology-driven environment and understands the unique accounting considerations associated with recurring revenue, subscription billing, payments, and rapidly scaling businesses.

• Lead the day-to-day accounting function, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee revenue recognition, including ASC 606, deferred revenue, and subscription-based revenue streams
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Partner with FP&A to improve forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial visibility
• Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and working capital
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and other financial service providers
• Support tax compliance, including coordination of federal, state, and local requirements
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and automation as the company scales
• Help ensure compliance with applicable financial services and regulatory requirements
• Support financial and operational due diligence related to strategic initiatives, partnerships fundraising, or M&A
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while establishing clear processes and accountability
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience managing an accounting function
• Prior experience in SaaS, fintech, financial services, payments, or a high-growth technology company
• Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Experience with ASC 606 / SaaS revenue recognition
• Experience managing audits and working with external accounting partners
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills and experience with modern ERP/accounting systems
• Experience implementing or improving accounting systems and processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment

• CPA or active CPA license
• Experience with Net Suite, Sage Intacct, or similar cloud-based ERP
• Experience with subscription billing, payment processing, or fintech platforms
• Experience supporting SOC 1/SOC 2, SOX, or other control frameworks
• Experience working in a venture-backed or PE-backed organization
• Experience scaling an accounting team through significant company growth
