Senior Accountant / Project Accountant
Location: Austin, TX 78754
Work Arrangement: On-Site
Salary: $75,000–$110,000 + discretionary bonus

A growing, private-equity-backed fire and life safety company is seeking a Senior Accountant / Project Accountant to join its Austin accounting team. This is a hands-on opportunity to join a growing organization that is actively acquiring and integrating businesses and building out its accounting infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a doer who enjoys working independently, digging into the numbers, and improving processes.
Responsibilities:- Own key aspects of the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Perform job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting
- Handle percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and AIA billing
- Analyze project margins and investigate variances
- Support AR/AP, billing, and collections
- Prepare financial reports and account reconciliations
- Assist with audits and financial reporting
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes
- Support the transition from Quick Books to Net Suite
- Assist with acquisition integration and accounting process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong U.S. GAAP and month-end close experience
- Strong journal entry and balance sheet reconciliation skills
- Construction/project accounting experience — required
- WIP, percentage-of-completion, job costing, and AIA billing experience — required
- Advanced Excel skills
- Self-motivated, analytical, and comfortable working independently
- Public accounting/audit experience
- Net Suite experience
- Quick Books experience
- CPA or CPA candidate
- ERP implementation or acquisition integration experience
