The Team You Will Be JoiningAs one of the United States’ premier state military organizations, this Texas State agency provides the Governor and the President with ready forces in support of state and federal authorities both domestically and internationally. The Adjutant General of Texas, the state’s senior military official appointed by the governor, leads them and prompts coordination with the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, the Texas State Guard, and the Domestic Operations Task Force.
They are customer service-oriented and works to serve and protect Texas communities.
- Prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, forms, and documents.
- Coordinates and performs general office duties such as routine use of computers, scanners and filing practices.
- Explains and disseminates information concerning agency programs and procedures. Maintains accurate employee distribution lists.
- Responds to inquiries and interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Compiles and enters data for charts, graphs, databases, summaries, or reports for daily,
weekly, and monthly reports or as requested. - Conducts administrative reviews of report documents, applications, or summaries to ensure administrative completeness.
- Provides assistance in answering and routing phone calls, taking messages, and greeting and directing visitors to the appropriate staff.
- Serves as backup to the Executive Assistant.
- May draft, edit or distribute correspondence.
- Possesses relevant experience and demonstrated proficiency in duties related to the responsibilities of the position.
- Performs duties in a professional office environment that may require sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday.
- Occasionally lifts, carries, and/or moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Uses standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, scanners, telephones, and filing systems.
- Rate: $24.00/hr.
- Length of Engagement: June 2026 - August 7, 2026; potential for extension.

Monday - Friday (Standard Business Hours | 40 hours/week). - Location: Austin, TX 78703 (Onsite).
