Responsibilities
Provide customer‑focused front desk support for OVPR reception areas, including answering phone calls and emails and greeting visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, tracking office supply inventory, and completing other related tasks.
- Maintain an organized and tidy workspace and assist with light cleaning duties, including vacuuming, dusting, and watering plants.
- Assist with meeting setup and cleanup as needed.
- Use basic functions in Microsoft Word, Adobe, and Excel to create and edit general office documents.
- Submit parking requests and process parking validations.
- Pick up and deliver materials across campus.
- Assist with projects and other duties as assigned.
- Currently enrolled undergraduate student at UT Austin in good academic standing.
- Financial aid work‑study recipient.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Professional demeanor, including appropriate workplace attire.
- Experience working in a professional office environment.
- Experience answering telephones and using standard office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to take initiative and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with university resources and campus operations.
- Prior experience in a customer service position.
Hourly wage: $15.00 per hour.
Weekly hours: 19 hours per week (minimum 15 hours) with flexible work hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, based on class schedule.
Position duration:
Expected to continue until May 15, 2027.
Work environment:
Standard office conditions; repetitive keyboard use; manual dexterity; climbing stairs; light lifting.
