Library Assistant II Responsibilities

  • Assist in accessioning activities, including inspecting, inventorying, housing, and labeling newly acquired or previously unaccessioned collection materials.
  • Prepare library, archival, and visual materials for off‑site storage including labeling boxes; updating location and other descriptive information in the collections management system database; arranging, housing, and inventorying materials at the box and collection levels.
  • Perform stacks maintenance activities for Ransom Center holdings, including surveying, labeling, and shifting of materials, updating location and other descriptive information in the collections management system database, and assisting with locating missing materials.
  • Create and maintain written policies, process documentation, and reports for Ransom Center collection management activities.
  • Identify conservation needs and perform basic preservation and housing activities.
  • Public service or reference work, including occasional Saturday hours.
Required Qualifications
  • BA with coursework in archives, libraries, or special collections.
  • Experience in literary, archival, or special collections research.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral presentations.
Salary Range

$27,394.34 (prorated for 25 hours per week)
