Purpose

Responsible for performing advanced and complex administrative duties for Director of Bands. This position is integral to supporting the Director's daily operations and ensuring the consistent efficiency of all administrative and logistical functions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage scheduling, calendaring, and administrative tasks for Director of Bands.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Administrative Associate for the Longhorn Band, prepare, maintain and submit entertainment, travel, and purchasing receipts for budget and finance compliance.
  • Coordinate travel logistics for Director of Bands, including booking airfare, hotels, car service, and travel related needs. Assist with travel coordination for ensembles, as needed.
  • Assist with administrative functions including correspondence, organization, and documentation management. Collect and compile information according to record keeping policies and procedures.
  • Plan and manage events, including working with vendors, Longhorn Band Assistant Director, staff, faculty, and students. This includes scheduling of performances and event preplanning to event post management.
  • Performs related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree and at least 3 years administrative experience, including one year of experience at either the Administrative Assistant or the Administrative Associate level.
  • Proficiency with a computer including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with five years of experience performing complex administrative functions.
  • Experience maintaining a database.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Adobe Pro. Familiarity with university policy and procedures.
  • Experience with making travel arrangements and processing travel reimbursements.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Salary

$30,000, fixed-rate (part-time, 20 hours a week)

  • Bending, stooping, and lifting items that weigh 25 pounds or less.
