ERS is seeking a Document Services Technician to perform highly complex (senior-level) administrative and electronic records support within the Records and Information Management Unit of the Operations Support Division. This role serves as a key hub for coordinating document workflows, supporting staff across the agency, ensuring accurate digital conversion of records, and maintaining organized information systems. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining imaging and reproduction equipment, preparing and processing documents, scheduling and fulfilling imaging requests, and providing responsive customer service to internal stakeholders.
Work requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage priorities with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment under the direction of the Records Management Officer.
Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates the intake, preparation, sorting, and scanning of paper records for conversion to digital formats, ensuring documents move efficiently through established workflows.
- Conducts detailed quality review of scanned images; identifies issues and independently resolves or escalates them to maintain accuracy and completeness.
- Provides frontline customer service by assisting staff with document research needs, use of imaging equipment, and general inquiries related to records processing.
- Operates and adjusts equipment; troubleshoots issues and ensures equipment is maintained and available for daily operations.
- Prioritizes incoming work requests and ensures timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Maintains organized electronic and physical record keeping systems, including logs, tracking spreadsheets, and filing structures.
- Adheres to all applicable agency policies—including safety, conduct, confidentiality, and quality standards—and maintains regular, reliable attendance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducts microfilm research, retrieves historical records, and provides scanned copies to internal customers.
- Assists with records storage, retention, and disposition activities, ensuring compliance with established schedules.
- Supports after hours work when necessary to meet operational needs.
- Performs additional administrative and records related duties as assigned.
