Summary

As part of the Congregational Ministries Division at The Austin Stone Community Church, the Executive Assistant (EA) will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and operational duties in support of the projects and initiatives of the Executive Pastor of Congregational Ministries. The EA must maintain complete confidentiality, assist as needed in crisis situations, and serve as a kind and resourceful assistant to interface with the Creative, Congregational, and Central teams.

The EA will report directly to the Executive Pastor of Congregational Ministries.

  • Provide executive administrative support to the Executive Pastor of Congregational Ministries that is directly related to ministry operations.
  • Exercise discretion and use independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
  • Manage email, Slack communications, and calendars.
  • Arrange travel and accommodations.
  • Create and maintain files and databases.
  • Capture and collate meeting decisions and action items.
  • Coordinate Central Team-wide and leadership team events, such as team retreats, planning days, seasonal, and staff celebrations, acting as key point-of-contact in support of Pine Cove.
  • Participate in hiring decisions and facilitate the onboarding and offboarding plan for Central Team staff and residents, in collaboration with respective team managers.
  • Careful and dignified handling of confidential information associated with the Executive Pastor of Congregational Ministries, Congregational Team Leadership, and Central Team.
  • Provide Central Team administrative support, including team care, calendar management, and facilitating communication to staff and elders.
  • Provide care coordination for the Central Team.
  • Support special projects as assigned.
  • Attend, serve, and lead at all required events and activities for The Austin Stone, including all staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, staff development days, etc.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • 3 years experience in an administrative support role or as a ministry associate
  • Strong knowledge of Austin Stone programs and ministries
  • Social media experience a plus but not required
