ROLE & PURPOSETo provide secretarial services for the Special Education Curriculum Coordinators.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
- Three years of successful office experience
- Proficiency in general office skills.
- Must possess strong organizational skills, customer service, telephone etiquette, administration support, and positive interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Maintain all materials, curriculum guides, booklets, software, etc., for curricular and instructional services and supports.
- Have a working knowledge of district policies and practices that relate to the department
- Provide clerical and secretarial duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, data entry and processing; spreadsheet and database formation; creating and generating reports, work orders, schedules, inventory on hand and reorder lists; other files, proposals, and documents as needed
- Track, calculate, generate, and input budgets; format and generate reports and purchase orders based on that information
- Monitor and balance monthly budget reports and grant reports
- Process, maintain, and track teachers' specialized certifications, campus support requests, interpreter requests, student information, and data
- Perform transactions related to instructional programs in a knowledgeable manner with parents, community, business, and education staff
- Develop, set up, and publish communications such as newsletters, flyers, and handbooks to parents, businesses, community and/or education staff.
- Attend professional development regarding district-wide systems, including data-based programs such as PEIMS and TEAMS
- Develop personal growth in electronic and/or computer-based systems, making the organization and department more efficient.
- Any other responsibilities as designated by the Curriculum Coordinator, and/or Director of Special Education.
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment.
- Posture: Moderate standing; occasional kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping
- Motion: Moderate walking
- Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
- Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
- Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress, with frequent interruptions.
