Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all materials/supply chain operations globally and establish best‑practice policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and manage best‑practice material handling to support shop floor lean manufacturing and logistics initiatives.
  • Create methods and best practices for inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control systems.
  • Track Materials Management metrics; perform root‑cause analysis and actions to improve any metric not meeting target goals.
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness of warehouse operations, including inventory management, staging, material handling, quality, and logistics.
  • Develop operating guidelines, policies, and procedures for inventory and warehousing.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy across all locations and develop action plans with direct reports to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Ensure inventory controls are in place at all locations and establish performance measures.
  • Represent the materials organization on corporate task‑force teams.
  • Manage department budget, associated costs, and resources.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality to achieve cost‑reduction targets.
  • Select, evaluate, and manage employees to ensure efficient function operations.

  • Applies broad industry and commercial awareness to drive financial and operational performance across business unit, department, or sub‑functions.

  • Leads through subordinate managers, executes segment/functional business plans, and contributes to the development of segment/functional strategy.

  • Directs resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems using advanced analytical thought and judgment.
Impact
  • Guided by segment/functional strategy, impacts results of a department, business unit or sub‑function and facilitates the work done by other segments/functions by providing support to influence business results.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Negotiates and influences the opinions of others at the senior executive level and in external organizations; exercises sensitivity to the audience.
