Position Summary

The Maintenance Worker will perform a variety of skilled and unskilled activities involved in the operation and maintenance of the facility’s general operations.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $22.00 to $24.00.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and make repairs to the venue as assigned.
  • Complete work orders in a well‑established preventative maintenance system for the facility and all equipment.
  • Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner.
  • Maintain walls (interior and exterior) of entire complex including all drywall repairs, sanding, and repainting.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, days, evenings, holidays, extended (long) workdays for an extended number of days as needed.
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting 50+ pounds, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises, extensive walking through the building.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and one (1) year full‑time experience at a facility; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use power tools and hand tools.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
  • Understand the methods, principles and practices required for the operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Familiar with maintenance operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event‑related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility is preferred.
  • Understanding of door hardware, locks, key machine, door closers, etc.
  • Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and other related materials.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to all safety precautions, building codes, rules, regulations, risk management and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines or other light power‑driven equipment.
