Job Title
Power Markets Analyst (Economist II - IV)
LocationAustin, Texas
SalaryMonthly $5,667.00 – $7,500.00
Responsibilities- Participate in and lead policy development projects related to electric markets.
- Conduct advanced economic and statistical analysis of Texas electric markets.
- Prepare technical reports and programmatic analysis for regulatory rule makings.
- Collaborate with Commission attorneys, industry representatives, and staff.
Minimum qualifications vary by economist level:
- Economist II:
Bachelor’s degree in economics or related field. - Economist III:
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of full‑time professional experience in economic or statistical analysis of U.S. energy markets, or Master’s degree with one year experience. - Economist IV:
Bachelor’s degree and at least four years of full‑time professional experience, or Master’s degree with three years experience.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with electric regulation and organized wholesale markets.
- Programming skills (Python, SQL, R, Power BI).
- Version control and CI/CD experience.
Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Telecommuting is at management’s discretion.
Veteran PreferenceVeterans, reservists, or guardsmen with qualifying Military Occupation Specialty may apply.
