Business Process Improvement Analyst.

Location:

Austin, TX (Hybrid) - On Site and Telework. Position:
Contract. Interview Mode:
In-person/MS Teams. Our direct state client is seeking an experienced Process Engineering Consultant to support operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives. This role will focus on evaluating existing business processes, identifying inefficiencies, and delivering data-driven recommendations to enhance performance, throughput, and end-user satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a seasoned process improvement professional with strong Lean/Six Sigma expertise and experience translating optimized workflows into technology-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Translate optimized processes into functional and non-functional specifications for a new modular or low-code technology solution.
  • Work with product teams to ensure process requirements are reflected in the design and architecture of new tools.
  • Conduct an end-to-end review of selected business processes across designated departments or functional areas.
  • Engage stakeholders to gather insights on process pain points, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Document "As-Is" workflows and analyze them using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Design optimized "To-Be" workflows and transition plans.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve process efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance functionality.
  • Establish metrics to track improvements and ROI.
  • Facilitate working sessions, process mapping workshops, and training as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to align process improvement plans with system capabilities.
  • Support the development of implementation roadmaps and change management strategies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in process engineering, operations optimization, or business process improvement.
  • 5+ years of experience evaluating current state processes and optimizing processes.
  • 1+ years of experience specifying software system requirements to design improved solutions.
  • 1+ years of Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • 1+ years of proven track record leading process transformation initiatives in large organizations.
  • 1+ years of proficiency in process modeling tools (e.g., Visio).
  • 1+ years of strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • 1+ years of experience with operational metrics, workflow optimization, and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Preferred:
    Experience in regulated or government environments.
  • Preferred:
    Familiarity with process automation or low-code tools.
  • Preferred:
    Lean certification.
